Delete your account

Effective date: August 16, 2026

Delete your ForgetME account

You can delete your ForgetME account and your data at any time. You do not need the app installed to make the request.

Option 1 — delete it yourself in the app

The fastest route. It takes effect immediately and needs no approval from us.

  • Open ForgetME.
  • Go to Settings.
  • Scroll to Delete account.
  • Confirm.

Your account and data are removed as soon as you confirm. You are signed out and the notes stored on that device are erased.

Option 2 — ask us by email

If you cannot open the app — you have lost the device, or you have already uninstalled it — email us instead.

Email: forgetme.hq@gmail.com
Subject: Delete my account

Send it from the email address your ForgetME account uses, so we can be sure the request is yours. If you can’t, tell us the account email address and we will verify your identity another way before deleting anything.

We will confirm within 7 days and complete the deletion within 30 days of verifying the request. In practice it is usually done within a day or two.

What gets deleted

Everything below is removed permanently as soon as the deletion runs:

  • your login and account
  • your profile — display name, username, email address
  • your profile photo
  • every note: transcripts and AI summaries
  • your reminders
  • your usage history and quota counters
  • your connections with other users
  • anything you had shared with other users
  • your subscription record

Voice recordings are not on this list because they are never stored. Audio is transcribed and deleted at the moment the note is created, so there is nothing left to delete later.

What we keep for a short time, and why

For up to 30 days after deletion we keep a restricted archive containing:

  • the account’s email address
  • the text of your notes and their summaries

It exists so that a deletion made by mistake, or by someone who should not have had access to your account, can be undone. It is not used for anything else. No advertising, AI training, or analytics touches it.

You can undo the deletion yourself. Sign in again with the same Google account within 30 days and ForgetME offers to restore your notes, telling you how many are waiting and how many days remain. Restoring brings back each note’s text, summary, category and reminder. Choosing Start fresh instead gives you an empty account and leaves the archive alone, so you can still change your mind until the 30 days are up.

Your profile photo, your connections, and notes shared with you are not in the archive and do not come back. Your Google Play subscription is unaffected either way — see below.

After 30 days the archive is permanently erased and the offer stops appearing. Nobody, including us, can recover the account after that.

If you want that archive erased immediately instead, say so in your email and we will do it.

Cancel your subscription first

Deleting your ForgetME account does not cancel a Google Play subscription — Google manages that, not us. Cancel it before or after deleting, at Google Play subscriptions, or you may continue to be charged.
